AMA Transcript Part 1

Greetings Spacefarers!

Wow, what an AMA last week! We rounded up an eye popping 11 pages of questions, and will be presenting all of those here in transcript form over the next couple of weeks. We’ve chosen to break it down into 3 sections, followed by the unanswered questions from the event. In this way, we will it will be much more digestible and easy to read. The entire contents are of course available in the chat history as well, for those who look back.

Q: goulven — 04/20/2022

i’ve heard about heroes and space-ships NFT, where are we on this level ?

A: HF_Shadow — 04/20/2022

great question. Space Ships and Hero NFTs are on the docket. The team has been balancing those systems as we speak, so expect to hear more about that…soon

Q: GFFLO — 04/20/2022

We will test the game before or after June?

A: HF_Shadow — 04/20/2022

Stay Tuned…

Q:

In Mirandus there will be a a max supply of 10 billion mtrm, so my question is in EOE do you have in mind the max amount of dust?

A: HF_Shadow — 04/20/2022

We’re still working very closely with our economists and Gala’s fantastic team to determine what these numbers should look like. We’re still in the early goings of those conversations though, so I couldn’t commit to what our supply amounts will look like yet

Q: MoonManiac — 04/20/2022

Will any of our researched technology be stored in the form of NFTs? For example, once we have learned a new tech, can we sell, share or trade that tech with other players? This concept is being discussed in Mirandus – where spells will be stored as NFTs that can be looted and traded with other players. Essentially separating and saving the various portions of our progression into transferable items.

A: HF_Shadow — 04/20/2022

so the way that we’re thinking about NFTs is more focused on progression of the major assets in the game. Your Celestial Objects, Capital Ships, and Heroes. As you progress those items, it will update the NFT and when you sell it, it will retain the progression and improvements you’ve added to it over time.

GFFLO — 04/20/2022

Q: we will be able to select the area where we begin in the game?

A: HF Artemis, Queen of Leeks — 04/20/2022

Everyone will start in house space, and then head off to the other areas

A: HF_Shadow — 04/20/2022

Everyone begins the game in House Space! This is where you’ll learn the core mechanics and get the hang of how to play. Once you’ve reached a certain Tier of home base, then you can move into one of the other areas

Q: MoonManiac — 04/20/2022

Is there a schedule for the initial land claim period? For example, how long will the head start period be for the Legendary claim owners? Vs the Epics, Rares and Uncommons? Is this likely to be measured in weeks to allow us to go in, explore the clusters and then claim, before the next tier of land owners may enter the game?

A: HF_Shadow — 04/20/2022

TBD. we’re a bit more focused on some of out near term development rather than the land rush. That being said, I would expect any sort of head start or preferential treatment to be reasonably large

Q: MoonManiac — 04/20/2022

That’s fair. Maybe this still falls under that TBD, but do you know yet how much will we likely know about the planets before we claim them? For example, will we know what resources the specific celestial objects can produce before we claim? This would allow us to make sure we collect a diverse set of resources.

A: HF Artemis, Queen of Leeks — 04/20/2022

you’ll know this, yes, you’ll send a probe and get details on the planet

Q: :droplet:Migri_19:droplet: — 04/20/2022

what kind of genre is this? is this a Grand Strategy game? Like crusader kings or Total War?

A: HF Artemis, Queen of Leeks — 04/20/2022

4x grand strategy, in space

Q: 4Head — 04/20/2022

Is everybody playing on the same game board?

A: HF Artemis, Queen of Leeks — 04/20/2022

asynchronously, but yes, it’s within the same universe

A: HF_Shadow — 04/20/2022

Yes, this is currently how we’re designing. Everyone will be on the same board. We’re prepared to adjust that however if the player population explodes. We’ve got some strategies up our sleeve just in case

Q: MoonManiac — 04/20/2022

how does that balance with those who need to go and claim land? will this House Space progression be required before we can explore the clusters as part of the land rush?

A: HF Artemis, Queen of Leeks — 04/20/2022

The way @dapperdon explained it previously, you’ll get to select your claims but still start in house space initially. Think of it as a tutorial or where you start the most basic functions of the game like mining your first resources. You’ll get to pick your claims, but then still need to complete basic tasks to head out there

Q: MoonManiac — 04/20/2022

ok. to your point on the needing to probe the areas in an effort to understand what is out in the cluster, that gives the impression that we would effectively need some portion of our fleet ready to go first, i.e., already having progressed through the house space. But this now sounds like our exploration during the land rush might be isolated from what we need to do during that initial tutorial period

Q: Pineapple Sam — 04/20/2022

any mobile game features?

A: HF_Shadow — 04/20/2022

I think there’s a lot of overlap between mobile and PC features at this point in the industry. Do you have any particular features that you’re interested in?

Q: Pineapple Sam — 04/20/2022

Looking at the possibility of managing our fleets in mobile. While away from home or PC.

A: HF_Shadow — 04/20/2022

this is another stay tuned question but i’ll leave it… we’re keenly interested in this space

Q: [SLY] Groove — 04/20/2022

Can you talk a bit more about progression? What, exactly, progresses, and what does a player have to do to progress those items?

A: HF_Shadow — 04/20/2022

It really depends on the asset. Capital ships progress in different ways versus heroes, versus Celestial Objects. We’ve got a longggg list of stats that each asset has relating to it, and those stats are what you’d be upgrading and progressing over time. In the case of like a CO right, you’d be progressing your mines to extract a greater amount of resources from them, you might be upgrading your services so that they produce higher rarity items. A capital ship however, you would be progressing maybe combat capability or mining extraction rate, or travel speed. so it really all depends on the asset.

Q: [SLY] Groove — 04/20/2022

Thank you! So is the progression more along the lines of a skill tree, where maybe you accrue XP and then assign points? Is it more “use based”, where the more you use a particular stat, the more it increases?

A: HF Artemis, Queen of Leeks — 04/20/2022

the loop is more along the lines of seeking out and acquiring resources, and spending those resources to raise the tier level of your buildings, to build the buildings, build out ships, etc

Love reading this! And I did read this the day you posted it and have been waiting since then for another post. Finally decided to post today to ask when can we see the rest of it??!! :grinning:
